The War within keeps you going with many different story threads from the start with Kathleen from a dysfunctional family then to love and children and then to lose her husband to the war and then to university with next exciting thread… I sometimes felt the writing was a little drawn out, but I was hooked on the story which kept me turning the page. I will look forward to reading the whole series.

I was blessed to get an advanced copy of Lee Woods’s new book War Within
The Vietnam War was the most despised war in all of American History would have had to have been the Vietnam War. I remember being a young child while the war was going on. I remember the agony of daily body counts and the unbelievable celebrations of MIAs who returned after years of torture by the Viet Cong. I remember the reports of I remember draft dodgers and the protests.
What I didn’t know about was the secret war, the insidious war of mind control experiments that the government conducted at the same time. Lee Woods in this book brings them all together when Logan Stewart goes to Vietnam leaving behind a wife and two young children. Word comes back that he was killed in a fire, his body never recovered. The only sign that he had ever been there, was his dog tags. His wife Kathleen tries to move on, but even though she has Richard waiting for her in the wings, she can’t seem to shake the idea that if she falls for Richard, she will be cheating on Logan.
I highly recommend this intriguing spell-binding historical novel. I look forward to reading future novels by this author.

” War Wtihin” by Lee Woods is a phenomenal tale of Kathleen Stewart, an American citizen and devoted mother, who during the age of the Vietnamese War struggles with the departure of the love of her life Logan, her brother Charles, and others in her sphere of influence whom had been deployed to fight overseas.
As the story progresses, Kathleen’s courage and spirit are both tested through the inevitable death of her beloved Logan whom’s body is never recovered due to the conspiracies of the war.
As well as the effects that the war brings upon her family and everyone she interacts with. Lee Woods presents in this novel a modern-day appeal that captivates the historical importance of one of America’s most painful eras. This story is a true tribute to the brave souls who fought and perished for their country overseas and the families back home when they had left behind.

This book takes place during the Vietnam war. I’ve heard since my childhood it was a war we shouldn’t have been involved with. I never knew much about that war and that time era. The author paints a picture with her words and description of the location and events going on at that time. It brings you back to a place of a reality the world has lived and experienced. As well as she has characters in place of the story you are reading that holds your interest. A book that kept me in suspense. I didn’t want to put it down, I wanted to keep reading.
